Princess of Hope stands within the Hingol National Park near Makran Coast in Gwadar city of Balochistan, Pakistan. It is approximately 190 kilometers from Karachi. This beautiful statue may have formed naturally over many years, but looks as if it is the work of a skilled artisan. The statue got its name from Hollywood actors, Angelina Jolie on her visit to Gwadar in 2002 as a goodwill ambassador.
The statue looks like a princess standing on a long stone and for a very long time this statue was completely unnoticed. Very little is thought about the historical backdrop of this statue and the mystery surrounding it makes it even more majestic and just makes you wonder about it. People are not much familiar with the history of this statue and the secret encompassing it makes it considerably more stunning and just makes people wonder about it.
Balochistan Culture and Tourism Minister, Abdul Khaliq Hazara said, “The Princess of Hope is one of Balochistan’s precious heritage sites and should be provided protection by the government”. This statue along with many other spots in Balochistan holds a significant tourism value. These are listed among the top priorities of the government and the government is planning to invest in this area for more tourism opportunities.
